Basketball Camp in Anacostia

Basketball Camp in Anacostia

Code 3 and My Brothers and Sisters Keeper have partnered together to host a basketball camp at Kramer Middle School in Anacostia. This past summer the kids have had fun learning new skills and speaking with MPD in open forum question and answer settings. In July the basketball attendees had an opportunity to go see the African American Museum in DC.

The camp teaches basketball fundamentals, along with a basketball championship with MVP trophies.  Students were served breakfast and lunch, heard from motivational speakers, and went on field trips.  There was also a forum with law enforcement, where students could ask questions and have open dialogue. In this forum DC police spoke with the kids on having a career in law enforcement and spoke to the kids about making smart choices.
