Halloween Safe Night a Huge Success

Halloween Safe Night a Huge Success

Halloween was an incredible night at the 7th Police District in Washington D.C.. Commander Regis Bryant and Code 3 hosted a Halloween Safe Night, which consisted of games, a spooky maze, and enough candy to last kids the rest of the year. This event was an incredible group effort beginning with Chief Newsham greeting the kids and families who attended. Redskin alumni handed out candy to the kids while the D.C. National Guard helped with crowd control and passing out candy and hot dogs. 7th District officers worked tirelessly on the maze setting up the fencing, tarps, props, and wearing incredible zombie themed costumes that really gave the kids and parents a good scare.

“This was better than Six Flags!”

— A parent at the event

Kids all over the city had attended the event, and parents were so impressed they were comparing it to the professional Halloween maze at Six Flags Amusement Park. In the end, 1,000 kids had walked through the maze and 1,200 pounds of candy had been given out. This was truly a rewarding event, from the success of the maze to the overjoyed faces of the kids when they saw the candy. We would like to thank everyone who played a part in this event and we hope to continue this for many Halloweens to come.
