Code 3 is proud to introduce the “Heroin Overdose Prevention Education” trailer known as H.O.P.E. House. Code 3, in conjunction with the Charles County Sheriffs Office, constructed the interior of the trailer as a typical teenagers bedroom. Planted around the bedroom are signs of opioid use and abuse and when parents, teachers, medical staff and counselors take tours of the trailer these signs are pointed out as well as common hiding locations and paraphernalia associated with the use of opioids and heroin. Former addicts and parents who lost children to this epidemic assisted with this project providing insight from their personal experiences. The trailer was revealed on November 1st and there are already several requests for tours throughout the county. On November 2nd, I received an award from the Charles County Sheriff for our assistance in the development of the trailer. Code 3 is currently building our own trailer for the purpose of educating parents and communities and already have spring tour dates in West Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee, and Minnesota.
