24 Sep Potomac Gardens Job Training Fair
Earlier this month, Code 3 Association learned of a need for GED preparation resources and job-training services in the Potomac Gardens housing project in Southeast D.C. This community is home to many at-risk youth who come from low-income families and struggle to find employment.
Leveraging our contacts with local community groups and the Metropolitan Police Department, we co-sponsored a job training fair for local youth on September 15. The event featured representatives from the culinary program, DC Central Kitchen, a construction apprenticeship called Building Futures, Brothers and Sisters Keepers Outreach, and DC Police. Participants learned about vocational job opportunities and workforce development programs.
We remain committed to preparing the next generation of youth for success, acknowledging that their success is undoubtedly connected to the health and safety of our local communities.
